In todays episode we bring Dr Andrew Chappell, one of the leaders in research in Natural Bodybuilding in the UK today. Andrew kicks off the episode by describing his education over the years and his experience in bodybuilding to date, recently playing top 3 in the world for the middle weight division.
After that he goes deep into his findings of the traits which make a bodybuilder successful or not: training protocols, dietary habits, length of diet and so much more. It's at this point we find out his last diet was 26 weeks long.He backs up his findings from amaturer competitors by discussing his research within the professional realms. Here they found very similar traits which he talks about at length.
We then wrap up the episode by discussing his research into peak week and the common things we might see: carb loading, sodium loading and the use of alcohol. For any natural body builder out there this is an absolute MUST listen if your thinking of competing.

In todays episode we bring you the natty king, Aj Morris. Aj kicks off the episode by giving a brief history into his own career in bodybuilding what inspired him to do so. He then details the available options that are out there for all natural athletes and the progressions you can make in them such as UKDFBA and BNBF. During at what time he explains why he made the decision to compete with UKDFBA where he won the world junior title.
We then delve deeper into what protocols Aj uses when his clients or himself are competing abroad and it interesting to see that not much really changes. This leads nicely onto the next part of the episode where we clarify that there is very little difference between natural and assisted body building process, expect of course for the use of exogenous compounds.
We then go on to talk about 'old school' vs 'new school' body building and then Aj finishes off the podcast with his advice to anyone listening out there who is on the fence of taking anabolics or not.

In todays episode we bring the you peaking master that is Calum Raistrick. He is the 4th Muscle Mentor to feature on the podcast and with todays episode you're in for a treat.
Calum kicks off the episode by explaining the importance of the 'prep' before the prep. Ensuring that all variables in regards to sleep, stress, recovery, food and health are in alignment before a prep should be under taken. Then we discuss the journey from 20 weeks out right up until the 8 weeks out point: the whole process and potential barriers you might face.
Then I ask Calum about why he runs daily check ins from 8 weeks out and what he is looking to achieve/manage by doing so. He speaks at length the fundamental reasons behind why but ultimate we see his level of care and his emotional support for his clients shine through here.
We then go on to discuss the process from 4 weeks out, the magical 'peak week', the use of diuretics and where to start if you want to become a prep coach.

Josh kicks off the podcast by telling us about his body building journey to date from his first show in 2014 up until his most recent in 2017. We then quickly delve into his transition from a natural athlete to an assisted one. With anabolics being a somewhat taboo subject in the industry we talk about how being open and honest about your usage can actually help your business rather than go against it.
But before someone decides to do so, josh talks about what he would suggest before you decide to jump on the bandwagon too early. This offers as a powerful insight to what you can achieve naturally with the right work ethic and genetics. We then discuss blood work, what the criteria for the mens physique division and any discrepancies we have seen across the different federations.

In todays episode we bring you the first VW Physique pro athlete, Clara Swedlund. She recently won her pro card in WUP/UKUP at this years British finals. Clara gives the insight to this years prep: her strategies with mindset, how to deal with emotions and the reminder you need to give yourself throughout.
We talk about her mental state near the end of prep and the 8 weeks of daily check ins. In this part of the episode you get both Claras and myself perspective. How she felt when calories were being tapered up, the reason I did so and how we worked together to create the final package.
Clara then opens up about her previous experience with bulimia and how she overcome it. She gives real life advice to anyone listening going through the struggles which the listener will get incredible value from. We also touch on how to deal with the 'need' to binge post show and the best ways to ensure it doesn't happen.

In todays episode I chat with Carly Mac, coach of jphyisque, on her first hand account of her loss of the menstrual cycle but also how she was able to regain. Carly kicks off the episode by giving a brief history of her body building career, her coaching to date and how the loss of a period is so common in todays society.
She then goes into her hypothalamic amenorrhea, denoting how she hadn't had a period in over 10 year and the struggles she faced along the way when she reached out for help. After years of frustration she explains how she educated herself and got on top of her own hormones, now having successfully had her first period in that 10 year time frame.
We also discuss the taboo nature that is the menstrual cycle and why that is is such in todays society. Throughout the episode Carly talks with passion on the subject and gets emotional when discussing her mental state at her lowest point. This hard hitting, first hand account will serve as inspiration to any females in the same scenario and is a MUST listen.

We kick things off by recapping the three different compounds that form the base of all steroids: Test, DHT and Nandrolone. Why we might use them at different stages during a bulk and a dieting phase, and the physiology behind why we retain water when running higher nandrolone.
Dean then gives us an insight to trenbolone, why it is often see as this 'nectar of the gods' compound, and also how to deal with side effects such as poor sleep quality, coined as "Trensomina" and the mental state it can give. Dean shared real life supplement protocols that can mitigate its effects.

In todays episode Steff and I discuss mental health issues within woman bodybuilding. She offers clear cut advise and strategies on how to work around issues you may already have or that could come with the like of a competition prep.
Steff gives the definitive line on what to do when you might not be receiving the support you crave on your physique journey from your partner/friends or family. She then goes on to detail what mindset you should have before undergoing a lengthy dieting phase and what to expect post show. Denoting the changes that can happen in a woman body but giving a real life example of what can happen, and how she learned from it and what she now does with her clients.
Lastly she wraps up by talking about the negative implications social media can have on you're journey and how she believes self worth should measured.
