Tuesday Sep 17, 2019
Tuesday Sep 17, 2019
In todays episode James shares his knowledge and expertise on all things biomechanics. We have tried to put this across in as basic, simple terms as we can for those who instantly dismiss it due to ‘fancy’ terminology being thrown around. Any coach/advanced lifter should be all ears.
A summary of things discussed:
-A brief summary of his journey, and the muscle mentors
-From a coaching the client perspective a description of the basic forces we need to be aware of when working with a complete beginner in the gym
-Resistance profile and strength curve are thrown about a lot. James describes both and how we can manipulate these to make training more effective
-How you would know what colour of band to use to change the resistance profile of a machine
-Exercise selection can be completely person dependant but there are often moves seen as ‘must do’ James summarises why a barbell squat might not be suited for an individual
-Cuffed work has become more and more popular, we discuss it’s popularity and it’s effectiveness vs similar moves
