Episode 28: Refeeds and Deloads
Thursday Feb 27, 2020
Thursday Feb 27, 2020
In todays episode I discuss the why and how someone might need a refeed or a deload. At a time many will be dieting for a show/shoot there will be a lot of instagram about people consuming burgers and chips on their refeed day then looking better a few days later. This can often give people a false sense of what a refeed is there to do and a thought that they might need one (tip here: you don't).
I also discuss the signs you might see when you'll need to back off the gas and deload. I explain what exactly a deload is and my strategy I use with clients.

Episode 27: Guest interview with Alexander Kolliari-Turner on Steroid Research
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
In todays episode we bring you Alex Kolliari-Turner is a 3rd year PhD student at the University of Brighton working on a project that for the FIRST TIME is monitoring human anabolic steroid users whilst they cycle off steroids to see how much muscle mass they retain and if their muscle exhibits a "memory" of previous exposure.
Studies in mice have shown that after steroid exposure mice loose muscle mass, but their muscle retains high levels of "myonuclei" (which are the structural units responsible for creating muscle protein), suggesting that the benefits of steroids may be long lasting and your ability to build muscle may always be "enhanced".
If you are a male, aged 20-40 years old and a current or past anabolic steroid user you would be eligible to take part and have a fully expenses paid trip to the University of Brighton. If you are on TRT you may also be eligible to take part dependent on your current TRT dosage and date of previous exposure. Please email Alex on A.Kolliari-Turner@brighton.ac.uk to find out more.
